Terms of Business

Work Orders

Work Orders must be given in writing.

Any Change Orders to the original work orders must be in writing.

No work can start until a credit card is on file and the paperwork (customer and customs forms) are filled out and signed.

All work is on a time and materials basis but estimates where possible are happily given. All troubleshooting work (or discovery work) is on a time and materials basis.

ARL does accept work ordered and to be paid for by a third party (such as warranty work for a boat manufacturer) as long as prior approval is given subject to the following.

  1. It is in writing from the manufacturer.
  2. They meet out credit requirements
  3. The boat/owner understands that they are responsible for said reimbursement of charges (including late fees) until the payment is made.

At any time ARL reserves the right to look to the owner/boat for reimbursement.

Credit requirements.

All terms are cash unless prior credit arrangements are made.

If made credit is given subject to the following

  • All invoices are due on receipt and must be paid within 30 days to avoid finance charges which are charged at 2.5% per month.
  • All invoices are to be settled before the boat departs Antigua regardless of any extenuating circumstances unless prior arrangements are made to the contrary.
  • If the customer and/or representative have no prior credit record then a deposit for work or a credit card reserve may be requested before work can start.

Insurance

Antigua Rigging Ltd maintains liability insurance for its activities. However, all owners are required to maintain their own liability and hull insurance because such policies generally offer far more protection to the boat owner than a third party, such as ARL, liability policy.

ARL, therefore, assumes no liability for any loss, damage or injury to Signatory's boat or the Owner, his family, invitees or servants. The Owner and the Owner's vessel will indemnify and hold harmless ARL from any cost, expenses, damages, and against all claims, demands, and/or damage liability that may be asserted by anyone.

The Owner covenants and agrees that he has in full force and effect a marine insurance policy of a "named perils" or "all risks" type that fully insures the value of the vessel and property, which includes third party liability insurance.
